San Leandro is a beautiful city with a diverse heritage and numerous cultural amenities including a 450-berth Marina, two golf courses and a large community library center. Discovered in 1772 by a Spanish explorer, San Leandro became famous during the late 1800s and early 1900s for its delicious cherries. The famous annual Cherry Festival is a successful and fun filled event.
San Leandro has both newer and older houses of quiet, well-defined neighborhoods. You can find tree-lined streets with charming and unique older houses and newer modern contemperary homes along the shores. You can enjoy outdoor activities at one of the many city recreation parks throughout the year due to San Leandro's temperate weather with an average temperature of 62 degrees and average rainfall of 19 inches per year.
The beautiful Marina, a prestigious library system and constant growing, a board commercial sector, and a strong recreational program that are all made San Leandro so unique and a pleasant place to live. San Leandro has numeros distinct neighborhoods and most of them have manditory Home Owner Associations fees with few exception of them: Assumption Parish, Bay-O-Vista, Best Manor, Broadmoor, Estudillo Estates, Floresta Gardens, Farrelly Pond, Marina Faire, Mulford Gardens, Washington Manor.
